Purpose: The highly popular multi-stranded NGS3 Quik-Piks offer a “quik” way to “pik” a variety of math problems designed to preview, review and reinforce the math concepts and skills of the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards and NCTM. These problems can be used daily as part of Math ClubSM, class work, and homeprepSM. |

| II. NGS3 Science Quik-PiksSM |

Purpose:
These booklets offer a “quik” way to “pik”
a variety of science problems designed to preview, review and
reinforce the science concepts and skills of the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards. These problems
can be used everyday as part of your curriculum, classwork,
and homework. Problems on each page correspond to the essential strands of the state standards.
Design:
Each page contains 4 problems. Each problem on each
page corresponds to a Science Strand of the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards. Bodies of Knowledge covered on each page are Nature of Science, Earth Science, Physical Science and Life Science. |

| III. Pre-Post Assessment (Placement) |

Purpose: The results of these assessments are used as a basis for:
• placement of students in appropriate performance level groups,
• determination of effective class-sizing recommendations for Student Performance-Based Groups (SPBG), and
• customization of the textbook Scope and Sequence by grade level.
Average
Score Range: Pretest: 33%-50%
Posttest: 60%-80%
Standards:
This assessment is aligned with the State Standards
and national standardized tests such as the SAT9,
CAT5, CTBS, and TerraNova. |

| IV. NGS3Comprehensive Pre-Post |

Purpose: Aligned to the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards to facilitate
projections of student performance. Used as an ongoing supplemental tool to inform and guide instruction and confirm student mastery of essential skills and concepts. Results are also used to drive Problem Attack Strategy Sessions (P.A.S.S.).

Score Range: Pretest: 30%-40%
Posttest: 60%-70%
